ACTOR:

Monologue of your choice, not to exceed 90 seconds.

May be asked to do cold reading.

Dance call: Wear clothing that allows full range of movement. Men: jazz shoes; Ladies: character shoes. No street shoes.

If singing, please see singer requirements.

 

SINGER:

16 bars of an up-tempo and 16 bars of slow-tempo. Musical Theatre and/or Opera.

Provide sheet music in the correct key. Accompanist will not transpose.

Must show legit ability.

Dance call: Wear clothing that allows full range of movement. Men: jazz shoes; Ladies: character shoes. No street shoes.

If acting, please see actor requirements.

 

DANCER:

Form fitting dance attire.

Jazz shoes recommended.  No street shoes.

Arrive early to stretch prior to dance call as a warm up will not be conducted.

If auditioning as an actor or singer, please see those requirements.

 

 INSTRUMENTALIST:

Bring personal instruments (except for piano).

Play one minute of classical piece. (Violinists may show "fiddle" abilities)

Sight read short selection from the show  score.

 

STAGE MANAGEMENT, TECHNICIAN, DESIGNER:

Work portfolio.

TEXAS 2017 Audition Tour

 ALL POSITIONS PAID

 

ACTORS: 10 male and female

SINGERS: 4 Soprano, 4 Alto, 4 Tenor, 4 bass (Opera/choral technique beneficial; read music)

DANCERS: 14 male, 14 female (strong ballet and/or jazz technique; partnering a plus)

INSTRUMENTALISTS: 2 violins, 2 guitars, 1 upright bass, 1 piano (must read music)

CHILD ACTORS: Come to auditions with a parent for an interview.

TECHNICIANS: Stage Managers, Technical Director, Master Electrician, Electricians/Spot Operators, Carpenters, Audio Engineer, Wardrobe Engineers, & General Technicians.

AGE REQUIREMENT: 18 years or older. SEE ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS BELOW.

 

TEXAS 2017 opens on June 2nd, closes August 19th

Rehearsals start May 14th.

 Crew and Stage Management Schedule differ from Rehearsals and need to potentially be available from May 1 through the season. Over hire crew for pre-production are scheduled starting April 1st through May 14th.

Two combinations will be taught – one for movers and one for more advanced techniques. Bring a resume and headshot.

2:30pm- Actor and Singer auditions – 90 sec. Monologue if not   Singing. Singing and

Dancing should be a combined 2 min. No accompanist will be provided. Bring music on phone or I-pad. Bring a resume and headshot.
