2026 AUDITIONS / INTERVIEWS

TEXAS Outdoor Musical is seeking talented actors, singers, dancers, instrumentalists, stage managers, technicians and production crew for our 60th season of performance in the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon State Park! TEXAS fictionalizes the stories, struggles, and triumphs of the settlers of the Texas Panhandle in the 1800’s!

Performers should bring a headshot and resume with you to your audition. You must be 18 years of age or older to audition.

*All auditionees must participate in either the Dance Call or Movement Call. Jazz or character shoes are recommended for both calls. A warmup will not be conducted at either the movement or dance call. Performers are asked to arrive early and be prepared to warmup on their own prior to the audition.

Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) – Chattanooga, TN

Spring Professional Auditions

Performers interested in auditioning at SETC must have pre-screened and registered for the Spring Professional Auditions at the Annual Convention.

Audition Requirements for SETC (Southeastern Theater Conference):

If you have not passed through the SETC Screening Auditions, you will not be able to audition for us at the SETC Spring Professional Auditions. We encourage you to attend the February 14 or 21 auditions or submit a virtual audition.


Audition Requirements for February 14 and 21

ACTORS:

  • Movement Call
  • 60 to 90-second contemporary monologue of your choice
  • 16-32 bars of a “legit” musical theatre song of your choice

SINGERS:
(Opera/choral technique beneficial; ability to read music)

  • Movement Call
  • 60-second monologue of your choice
  • 32 bars of a classical art song/aria or “legit” musical theatre song
  • 32 bars of a contrasting musical theatre song of your choice
  • Dance Call where you will learn a high energy combination from the show

DANCERS:
(Strong ballet and/or jazz technique, partnering a plus)

  • Dance Call where you will learn a high energy combination from the show

INSTRUMENTALISTS:
(Must be able to read music)

  • Violin, Guitar, Upright Bass, or Piano
  • Demonstration of your facility on the instrument, with at least one classical piece

Audition Requirements for Virtual Submission:

While in-person auditions are encouraged, if you are unable to audition in-person, you may submit a virtual audition by completing the following online submission form: HERE

*The deadline to submit is March 1st at 5:00pm.

Actors - 60 to 90-second contemporary monologue of your choice, 16-32 bars of a “legit” musical theatre song of your choice which also demonstrates movement ability

Singers - 60-second contemporary monologue of your choice, 32 bars of a classical art song/aria or “legit” musical theatre song, and 32 bars of a contrasting musical theatre song of your choice which also demonstrates movement ability

Dancers - performance or studio footage demonstrating technical ability with at least 1-minute of straightforward center work and 1-minute displaying your best personal style; videos may include technique exercises, progressions, combinations, routines, or performances

Instrumentalists - at least 2 minutes of demonstration of your facility on the instrument, with at least one classical piece
